THORPEDIANS - Maximum Hard Reggae From The Top: Redstar73 have come up with a very cool release from this Catalonian reggae band who fuse elements of ska and rock into their sound. This five-piece manage to fuse the music they love and in doing so deliver a twelve track album that has been played to death since receiving it. The Thorpedians certainly entertain and it's fair to say there's not one filler on here. Favourite tracks for me include 'Hey Sister', 'Return Of The Violator', 'When I See The Lights' and 'Girl Of My Dreams'. The quality of musicianship is spot on and it's fair to say that they all make a great contribution in keeping everything fresh. It's bands like the Thorpedians that keep my love for ska music strong and the evidence of their charm can be found throughout the album. Like all Redstar73 releases this album comes well packaged which gets the thumbs up from me every time! If you're in Reggae / Ska I reckon you'll be well surprised. 8/10
